Provide routine 2nd alarm and greater alarm response and special calls to fires, hazardous-materials, specialized/technical rescue incidents, mass-casualty incidents, weather emergencies, homeland security events, and unusual events such as firefighter funerals and major water outages. Member departments also have multiple automatic aid agreements in place. Most alarms cover the first 8-24 hours of an incident; however, member departments have been rotated through 3-5 days of some unusual incidents usually for 8–12-hour operational periods. Long term events are coordinated between Tri-State Mutual Aid assets and Tennessee and Georgia Statewide Mutual Aid Systems including Southeast TN District 3 and Northwest GA District 1.
